Video of the Week: Drake “Worst Behavior”

It’s true.  If you didn’t believe it when you heard that Drake was in Memphis filming a music video, now there’s proof. In Drake’s new video for “Worst Behavior,” Director X captures the soul of Memphis music and one of its historical landmarks, Royal Studios, within the first minute. From the painted piano steps to the golden records lining the wall, Memphis music has a shinning moment in the introduction.  Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, has worked as a musician with Jerry Lee Lewis in the past and has now worked with his own son mouthing the lyrics to the song in a parking lot, jamming out in Royal Studios, and singing karaoke at the infamous Club 152 on Beale. From the Cadillacs, the fly pimp suits and alligator shoes, and the boarded up house in the hood, the video has a very Hustle & Flow feel to it and truly captures that side of Memphis culture.  On the other side, however, we see some of the Memphis Magic on America’s #1 Street of 2013, Beale Street.  If you’ve been on Beale Street any time in the last 15 years, you’ve seen the backflipping street performers shown in the video.  We love the slow-motion editing that was incorporated to blow your mind.

Overall, I’m thrilled with the results of the video. However, they could have probably left out the skit, though it was cool to see Juicy J and Project Pat.  As for who the song is actually about, I think that’s still up for interpretation.  Take a look at the video yourself and tell us what you think!
